April 2nd-5th 2009. Four of your IFC executive members were fortunate enough to attend the Western Regional Greek Association Leadership Conference in San Francisco, California (WRGALC). Matthew Villaseñor (ΒΘΠ), Ryan Hirsch (ΠΚΑ), Tom Lerner (ΦΚΨ), and Jordan Stone (ΣΝ) quickly adapted to the windy Northern Californian weather to represent the UC Irvine Inter-fraternity Council amongst a guest list of 900 Greek leaders from over 50 campuses.
This was a monumental experience for the young leaders who attended with four UCI Panhellenic executive members, and attended multiple educational seminars about leadershiph development within the Greek community. Speakers such as Rick Barnes, Steve Birdine, Colleen Coffey, David Stollman, and many others lead inspiring sessions to discuss the positive aspects of Greek life and shared innovated ideas to ensure a future home for highly-productive students. The conference was a perfect way for networking with local universities, and hopefully more members will be able to attend next year when it is hosted in Orange County.
